Sky Ranch Horn Creek
6758 Co Rd 130
Westcliffe, CO 81252
Phone: (800) 962-2267

How far is the ranch from the Colorado Springs Airport?

The Horn Creek Camp is approximately a 1 hour, 45 minute drive from COS.

Do I need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach the ranch?

No, all roads are paved or gravel and 4-wheel drive is not required.

Will I need a car onsite?

All activities once onsite are within walking distance. The camp is spread out and some of the distances between buildings can be over 1/4 mile depending on which building you are lodging in, so bikes can be a convenient way to get around the camp. Any mobility-challenged guests have the option to drive between lodging, dining, and meeting rooms.

  • Most onsite activities (pool, gym, fishing, jumping pillow, hiking, water slides, racquetball, sports courts and more)
  • NOTE - Additional activities such as snack/coffee bar, ropes course, bowling, shooting range, zip line, climbing wall, horse back riding, are available for an extra fee; prices available onsite.

What are the morning sessions and evening programs like?

A variety of elements such as Bible/Worldview teaching, group singing, prayer, sword drills, and trivia are normally included throughout the event. Some of the Bible/Worldview teaching times are geared towards fathers and older teens and some are geared more towards younger teens and boys. Our goal is for you to have an intentional weekend with your son and the teaching is designed to help that to happen! While most fathers and sons attend all of the teaching times, you are welcome to adjust your attendance of morning sessions and evening programs to your needs.

I'd like to fish; what do I need to know?

Fishing is free! (Catch and release only.) Bring your own fishing gear. No fishing license is required for fishing at Horn Creek’s stocked pond. Fishing in surrounding lakes/streams will require a Colorado fishing license.

I'd like to use the shooting range; are there any details I should be aware of?

The rifle range is only available with the provided firearms (.22 rifle, BB guns), slingshots, etc. You may not bring any outside firearms to Horn Creek Ranch. Rifle range is available for an additional fee.

What’s the age range for fathers and sons?

The retreat is for dads and sons of all ages — including grandfathers! We have seen boys as young as age 4, but typically age 7 through early 20s is most common. (There’s no minimum or maximum age.)

I have more than one son — can I bring all of them with me?

Yes! We have many dads who bring multiple sons with them.

Can I bring my son with special needs?

Sure! All the activities are great for dads and sons to participate in together, and the schedule is flexible so you can take a break if needed.

Is there medical care available onsite?

There will be a medical professional available for injury/first aid.

Can I drive my RV and park it there?

There is no camping or RV’ing allowed. Your registration fee includes eight meals (Thursday dinner - Sunday breakfast) and lodging, so enjoy!

How do I get there? Do I need a car onsite?

Check out the Travel Info section above.

What is lodging like?

The rooms vary in size and configuration. In most cases you can expect to be in a room with other fathers and sons. Rooms have bunk beds, queen beds, double beds, or a combination of both. Most rooms will have a private bathroom. Sheets, bedding, towels, and washcloths are provided (although you'll need to bring your own washcloth if desired). If you'd like to share a room with friends, leave a comment on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate it.

Will we be able to dine with friends?

The camp has 3 dining halls and you will be assigned to the dining hall closest to your lodging. If you have friends that you'd like to enjoy meals with, leave a comment on your registration form and we will do our best to accommodate it.

Are meals provided?

Definitely! All meals are served family-style in the camp dining room. Bring your appetite!

I have special dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate my needs?

Yes; just let us know in the comments when you register, and we’ll alert the kitchen to your needs. (Gluten-free, dairy-free)

My wife and daughters are traveling with us. Is there a place they can stay?

The camp lodges are reserved for fathers and sons, and there is no lodging available for rent for other groups.

How can I invite my friends?

Glad you asked! Send them to this website, or visit the event on Facebook and invite them there.
